Aurora Resort & SPA, Berovo Lake, Macedonia
When: Saturday, June 27th, 2026
Where: Aurora Resort & SPA, Berovo Lake, Macedonia
Meeting time: The reception starts at 16h00 (the ceremony starts at 17h00)
Dress Code: It's a party, not a corporate meeting. Think smart-casual! Since the venue is in the mountains, the evening can get chilly. Layers are highly recommended!
When: Sunday, June 28th, 2026
Where: Aurora Resort & SPA, Berovo Lake, Macedonia
Meeting time: As of 1pm. Just find a comfy sun lounger by the pool and enjoy a delicious vegan BBQ in the afternoon. For the evening, the resort's restaurant is available for even more food and drinks extravaganza!
Dress Code: Pool party, casual, relaxed. Basically, come as you are and maybe bring a swimsuit. No "chicness" is required - we'll all be recovering together.
Recovery Options: Need to sweat off the rakija? The resort has a wonderful SPA with treatments available. Book a massage or hit the sauna to detox.
When: Monday, June 29th, 2026
Where: Valandovo, Macedonia
Meeting time: You are welcome to join us at Viktorija's family home from 3pm onwards for more food, zero schedule, and a heroic commitment to finishing the last drops of rakija. This is optional and if you still have some time or energy – don’t feel pressured to join!
Dress Code: Easy, breezy, and comfy. Also, throw a pair of comfortable walking shoes in your bag! If the call of the hills is too strong, or if we want a taste of the busting southern life, we may venture out for a little walk through the village or surrounding area. You never know what rakija will make you want to do, so better come prepared!
Wedding Weekend: For your comfort, and to ensure you can go full out on the drinks, accommodation at the Aurora Resort can be booked throughout the entire weekend. We anticipate that the cost for accommodation will be in the range of €55-70 per person per night (incl. breakfast). Please let us know on your RSVP form when you plan to stay at the resort. Once we have a final headcount, we will send you detailed information on booking the best and most convenient options.
Southern Wind-down: If you wish to spend the Monday night in the south, you can find accommodation in Valandovo or in/around Gevgelija (more options) on Booking or Airbnb.
Trains: Of course, everyone's preferred option for romantic and sustainable travels, but in the Balkans, forget about it. It's easier to walk!
Airports: You have four relevant options:
Renting a car: Highly recommended option! It is the easiest way to see the country (and often the cheapest!). Expect around €30-€40/day in Macedonia or €40-€50/day if you rent in Greece.
Taxis: Uber is a myth here. In main cities, you can use the local apps: Wizi, BeeRide, or Global Taxi.
Organized buses: To make your life easier, we can arrange bus transportation from Skopje to the venue on the wedding day (June 27th) and a return trip the following day (June 28th). If you'd like a spot on the bus, please let us know on your RSVP form!
Currency: The local currency is the Macedonian Denar (MKD) (1€ = 61 MKD). Euros are sometimes accepted in tourist areas, but it's best to have local currency. Aim for reputable macedonian banks and ATMs (not at the airport!): HalkBank, Stopanska Bank, Tutunska Bank. To avoid poor conversion rates, always select to be charged in the local currency (MKD).
Language: Macedonian is the official language. English is widely spoken in tourist areas, especially by younger generations.
No gifts are expected! Seriously. Your dance moves and effort to travel all the way to Macedonia is the greatest gift we could ask for. That said, for those who feel the overwhelming need to stick to tradition and "release some change," there will be a little box at the wedding. Consider it a tradition tax, not a gift requirement.
